Jerzy Dmitruk

Jerzy Dmitruk was born on 24 August 1960 in Sępopol. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Diploma in Prof. Juliusz Joniak’s studio in 1986 and studies at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Diploma with honours in the gravure printing studio of Professor Andrzej Pietsch. He is a painter, graphic artist, illustrator and book designer. He realises graphic cycles called „Siewca urodzaju”, „Pejzaż urodzaju”, „Żywot malarza”, „Misja”, „Drzewa objawień”, „Dom”, „Ogród pierwszej miłości”, „Kwiaciarki”, „Przydomowa kopalnia złota i diamentów”, „Akt twórczy”, „Kraków-kolor miasta” and „Udomowiona rodzina wawelskich smoków”. The realisation of book projects, among others, ” Do widzenia, do jutra” – the poetry of Wisława Szymborska, ” Kiedy Cię spotkam, co Ci powiem”. – Mirosław Czyżykiewicz’s poetry, illustrations to the Holy Bible”, „Wyjaśnij mi, miłość” – poetry by Ingeborg Bachmann, ” Elegie z Gór Tymowskich” – poetry by Jan Polkowski.
Participation in over 200 collective and 20 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Winner of awards and prizes. Works in the collection of: Museum of Urban Engineering in Cracow, National Museum in Cracow, Jagiellonian University Museum, Archdiocesan Museum in Cracow, Silesian Museum in Katowice, Castle Museum in Malbork, Prudnicka Land Museum in Prudnik, Frederikshaven Museum & Exlibrissamling, The District Museum in Nowy Sącz, the Central Museum of Prisoners of War in Opole, the Museum of the City of Ostrów Wielkopolski, the Museum of the Silesian Piasts in Brzeg, the Public Library in Oleśnica, the Library of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and in private collections in Poland and abroad.
