Journalist and publicist, head of the Department of Journalism at Collegium Civitas. He started his career as a journalist in the weekly magazine „Na przełaj” (1980-1981), then he worked in the Press Information Office of NSZZ „Solidarność”. (1981-1983) and wrote for „Tygodnik Powszechny” and the monthly magazine „Powściągliwość i Praca”. One of the founders and editors of „Gazeta Wyborcza” (1989), and an associate of Radio Zet. Between 1989 and 1990, spokesman for the Civic Parliamentary Club. In 1991-1992 President of the Polish Information Agency. Author and leader of many radio and television programmes („Tok-szok”, „Tok2Szok”, „Tischner reads catechism”, „Autograph”, „Tok-tok”, „Eavesdropping conversations”, „Radio Zet Guest”). Author or co-author of many books, including Challenges (with Bishop Jan Chrapek, Warsaw 1987), Year 1989 – Bronisław Geremek answers, Jacek Żakowski asks (Warsaw 1990), Między Panem a Plebanem (Warsaw 1995), Tischner reads the Catechism (Warsaw 1996), PRL for beginners (together with Jacek Kuroń, Warsaw 1995), Mroczne wnętrza – uwięziony Prymas prywatnie (Warsaw 2000), Trwoga i nadzieja (Warsaw 2003), Anty-Tina Rozmowy o lepszym świecie, myśleniu i życie (Warsaw 2005), Nauczka (Warsaw 2007). Winner of numerous awards, including the underground SDP (1987), the Polish PEN Club (1988), the Grand Press award in the journalist of the year category (1997) and two Wiktor statuettes. Member of the Journalist Association and the Media Fund Council.
